The UN Charter is extremely clear: no member shall use force against any state unless the action is either a) in self-defence or b) authorised by a resolution of the UN Security Council.

In 2003, Iraq was invaded by the US and Britain on false pretences. The action is now widely recognised to have been a war crime, even if both George Bush and Tony Blair and their associates have not so far been brought to court.

In 2015, the bombing of Syria by the US and Britain is ongoing. It is a war crime for exactly the same reasons as the invasion of Iraq: it is not in self-defence, and it has not been authorised either by the UN Security Council or the Syrian Government.

We call on Fatou Bensouda, Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court, to initiate prosecution of Barack Obama and David Cameron as a matter of urgency.
