November brought us these headlines from the same circuit court that wrongfully convicted my husband, Leonard Coleman, in 2012.  I cannot speak to the specifics of these cases, nor the culpability of the defendants.  However, the objective and evidence-based views Judge Zackery Moore and Judge Edward McDermott have led with are certainly encouraging, especially coming out of the Mobile County Circuit Court.

We are blessed that Judge Jay A. York has also continued to progress Leonard's case forward, as we have hearings on the docket on Jan 19 and Feb 23, 2023.  More to come on those soon.  Although Alabama houses only two conviction integrity units in its state, neither of which have jurisdiction over Mobile, it gives me hope that, where Mobile's DAs seem to plow through with insufficient evidence and witnesses, its judges are countering by stepping in with second looks. I cannot express our gratitude to those who donated to promote this petition in the past month (and at any point), which will allow it to reach as many eyes as possible.  It hasn't been easy doing this alone for the past two and a half years.  But, somehow, from time to time, you all remind me that we are not in this alone.
