Prosecute US and Dual US-Israeli Citizens Involved in Gaza War Crimes
The Issue
As a deeply concerned citizen, I am disturbed by the voluntary involvement of thousands of US citizens and dual US-Israeli citizens in the war on Gaza by fighting as IDF soldiers. This involvement is not just a matter of political disagreement, but it crosses into the realm of potential war crimes and genocide as defined under Section 1091 Title 18 of the United States Code. US law prohibits genocide whether committed in time of peace or time of war. Genocide is defined in § 1091 and includes violent attacks with the specific intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnic, racial, or religious group.
The devastating conflict has resulted in over 30,000 civilian casualties comprising of mostly women and children, with reports of atrocities including intentional starvation of the population, the murder of civilians seeking aid, attacks on medical infrastructure, torture, and according to the President of the United States," indiscriminate bombing."
It is deeply troubling to think that our fellow citizens have taken time away from their lives in order to torture, murder, and starve as many Palestinians as possible with the intention of eliminating the population in whole or in part. We must ensure human rights are protected and justice for all, regardless of nationality or religion.
We call upon our legal system to investigate these allegations thoroughly and impartially. If found guilty, those involved should be held accountable for their actions under U.S law. We cannot stand by while potential war criminals return home to live among us without facing any consequences.
This petition seeks justice for those who have suffered immensely due to this conflict. It also aims to uphold the values we hold dear as a nation - respect for human rights and adherence to international law.
Please sign this petition to help ensure the criminals committing these horrific atrocities are held accountable.
