Two juveniles in Warsaw, Missouri, intentionally drowned a kitten named Lizzie, treating the precious life of an innocent kitten as if it was worthless. The video that went viral online showcases the appalling coldness towards Lizzie's suffering. There are also allegations that one of the teens has also fatally stabbed a dog. This is sociopathic behavior, and it must be stopped before more innocent animals and/or people are hurt or killed.

This heartless act, committed by these young individuals, demands justice. Regrettably, this crime doesn't end with the juveniles. I strongly urge authorities to prosecute these juveniles as adults and extend accountability to their parents by arresting them. We must hold guardians accountable for raising individuals who see such heinous acts as acceptable.

Statistics around animal cruelty show a disturbing trend. According to the Humane Society, intentional abuse or torture is found more in children's juvenile records, and without adequate intervention, could lead to more violent behavior. In this spine-chilling instance, prosecuting these juveniles as adults could serve as a deterrent against similar acts in the future.

Warsaw authorities can take a crucial step here, not just in providing Lizzie the justice she deserves, but by sending an educative message that cruelty of this nature will not be tolerated in our society. Intervention is vital to break this cycle of cruelty and indifference before it escalates.
