There was an online meeting and information presentation by Taseko, EPIC (Environmental Assessment Office Public Engagement), and IAAC (Impact Assessment Agency of Canada).
During this meeting they discussed the initial stages of the mine planning but did not discuss the transmission line as that has not been a priority for them to plan.

I asked about the impact it will have on residents in our community and they said that these are the early stages of planning and it's good we are expressing our concerns because they haven't figured out yet who all the affected parties are. Or at least that is the story they are giving us.

So this is the right time to be voicing our concerns and letting them know we don't want a power line in our backyard.

BC Hydro is doing the work so we will have to talk with them as well.
Apparently the 100 Mile House sub station is the ideal source for the mine, but there are two 500,000V lines running from Mica Creek  much closer to the mine, and they could be branched off through public land and not affect private properties.

Once again, I'm not fighting the mine or even the power line, just fighting to keep it out of our backyards and away from our residents.

Express your concerns on the EPIC website and tell them we need to be involved and considered!
