Proposed Gaslight Development – Citizen Survey

The Issue

The Gaslight development proposal is under review/pending approval by the East Grand Rapids (EGR) City Commission. The proposed development includes:

  • Five buildings ranging from 4 to 6 stories tall
  • Multiple 4-story townhomes
  • 149 residential units,  including lower-income housing
  • 35,000 square feet of commercial space
  • No designated public greenspace
  • All roads within the development would be privately owned and managed by the developer
  • Ultra-modern cement design
  • No independent traffic, parking, environmental, or commercial feasibility studies have been conducted
  • Developer may receive a 20-year tax abatement from the city
  • Unknown impact on EGR property values
  • No public vote is currently being offered to residents

By signing, I am indicating that no, I do not approve this development as proposed.
