Over 7,000 of you all have signed in support of Professor Jason Arday and media regulation following his passing. This incredible outpouring of solidarity and community has catapulted what started a single idea into a topic that is being spoken about across social media platforms, and more importantly by the relevant organisations.

An open letter was put forward to MPs on Wednesday following recognition from Amnesty International, a world leading non-profit human rights organisation. In their statement on his passing, they wrote:

“Professor Arday is not the first victim of our toxic, unregulated media culture and unless there is systemic legislative change, he won’t be the last[.] As networks we therefore support the creation of Arday’s Law”.

I am now in contact with Amnesty International to try and get “Arday’s Law” as far as possible, and have been approached by other potential organisations who can help do the same.

Unfortunately, the comments section of our petition has been permanently removed due to community guideline violations. However, I urge you to keep voicing your opinions on the unfair media harassment Professor Arday received on other platforms.

Your voice truly matters.

Thank you to every person who has supported this through signing, sharing and promoting. We are closer to our next goal of 10,000 signatures then ever first thought.

Please continue to keep the word alive.
