As a resident of Gapan City, Nueva Ecija, Philippines, I have witnessed firsthand the profound impact our everyday choices can have on the welfare of animals. These little lives depend on us for comfort when they're ill, for food when they're hungry, and for companionship when they are playful or cuddly. This experience has been a gateway to understanding that we can be better people and lead better lives by considering their welfare.

Animal suffering is an overwhelming issue. However, it's important to remember that making the right choice for animals is not an all-or-nothing endeavour. Every single choice we make can result in a positive change for animals.

According to the Philippine Animal Welfare Society (PAWS), there are over 12 million stray dogs in our country alone - each one deserving of care and compassion. We need to take action now to improve their conditions.
