The Issue

In our rural region, there is a significant need to cultivate a community environment that nourishes literacy, promotes overall wellness, and sparks socioeconomic advancement for all residents, especially teenagers and young adults who are at risk. A library with an inclusive plaza operating as a 'third space' - a place outside of home and work - provides this opportunity. The establishment of this progressive infrastructure not only serves as a beacon for personal and academic growth but also acts as a crime deterrent.

Statistical data has consistently shown that libraries, as public 'third spaces', have been instrumental in promoting literacy and diminishing crime rates. For young men and women, particularly those categorized as 'at risk', these public spaces provide a safe sanctuary to not only explore knowledge but also develop valuable life skills.

Our area has the wealth and disposable income necessary to sustain this project and uplift the standard of our community. A library with a adjacent plaza would cater effectively to the current high-caliber and high-value individuals in our society, ensuring the neighborhood bonds remain robust and relationships strengthen, thereby, securing a bright future for our adolescent population.

Let's redefine the concept of growth and usher in an era of intellectual and social development, right here, in our community. Invest in the youth; invest in our future. Please sign this petition to establish a community library with a plaza.
