Vast Improvements on the Humber River

Thank you to everyone for adding their voice to improve the Humber River for nature, wildlife, water quality and low impact recreational activities. With the shuttering of the Humber River Yacht Club for the summer of 2026 we have witnessed a huge decline in motorized vehicle use on the Humber. Less garbage is in the river, the amount of noise has been reduced, paddling activities have increased, and new wildlife has moved in - hello otters!

We now have an opportunity to encourage the City of Toronto by survey on proposed restrictions for motorized watercraft at Bluffer's Park Beach, Marie Curtis Park East Beach, and the Humber River. The survey is being conducted as part of an application for a Schedule 2 Vessel Operation Restriction Regulation (VORR) at these locations. 
If you live in Toronto and feel that the Humber River would be improved by closing it to motorized watercraft, please complete the survey by September 22.
