Prohibit the Use of Inhumane Sticky Traps in Connecticut

Prohibit the Use of Inhumane Sticky Traps in Connecticut
The Issue
These traps are designed to immobilize small pests until they die of starvation or dehydration. It's an absolutely inhumane way to control pests. No living creature should be forced to endure such cruelty.
Across Connecticut, these abhorrent devices are readily available in most stores. Why should we, in the 21st century, permit such barbaric and cruel methods to continue? Humane alternatives, such as catch-and-release traps, are available, and they prevent unnecessary suffering to animals.
Statistics from the Humane Society highlight that a substantial proportion of animals trapped are not the intended targets, resulting in unintended victims such as birds or small mammals. This further underscores the inhuman nature of these devices and their inherent inability to discriminate between different forms of wildlife.
We request the Connecticut State Government to enact legislation banning the sales and use of sticky traps, in line with increasing global concerns around animal welfare and cruelty.
The time to end this inhumane practice is now. Please sign this petition to urge our policymakers to make a positive change for all creatures big and small, because every life is precious and deserves to be treated with compassion and respect.
