The Issue

Glue paper traps, often used for rodent and pest control, represent a form of inhumane treatment. The trapped animals, in their desperation, often inflict severe harm on themselves in attempts to free themselves, leading to extreme discomfort and an agonizing death. In fact, the American Veterinary Medical Association has categorized glue traps as a method that causes unrelenting distress and suffering. Although these traps are commonly used due to their cost-effectiveness and convenience, it is crucial that we consider the ethical implications of their usage. A variety of humane and equally effective alternatives exist, such as live catch traps and the practice of Integrated Pest Management. As a society that values compassion and ethical treatment of all living creatures, it is our responsibility to discontinue practices that cause unnecessary pain. We implore policymakers to enact legislation to prohibit the use of glue paper traps for pest control. Sign and support our cause to end animal suffering and promote more humane practices in pest control.
