The World Health Organization recognizes noise as an important public health issue, linked with sleep disturbances, cardiovascular diseases and cognitive impairment in children.

I am personally affected by the unregulated use of fireworks in our residential communities. I suffer from chronic insomnia and anxiety, conditions worsened by the loud, unpredictable noises of fireworks. These nocturnal disturbances are not just affecting me - they also impact my performance at my job and harm my relationship with the people I love. 

Noise pollution from fireworks can greatly affect the well-being of all community members, especially those with underlying health conditions, the elderly, pets and wildlife. 

We need to address the issue of fireworks in residential neighborhoods before it causes more harm. It is essential that we take collective action to limit the use of fireworks in our neighborhoods. This is not just about me, this is about our community. It is about creating a safe, peaceful and respectful living environment for all of its residents.
