I am a horse owner who has experienced firsthand the devastating impact of fireworks on animals. My own horse was seriously injured due to fireworks being let off over his field, causing him severe distress and physical harm. This is not an isolated incident. Every year, countless animals suffer from fear, stress, and injury as a result of fireworks.

The RSPCA reports that 45% of dogs in the UK show signs of fear when they hear fireworks. It's not just pets that are affected; wildlife can also be severely disturbed or injured by these loud, bright displays (Source: RSPCA).

In addition to causing unnecessary suffering to animals, there are also human safety concerns associated with firework use by the general public. According to a 2019 report from the U.S Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), there were an estimated 10,000 injuries due to fireworks in that year alone.

It is time we take action against this preventable cause of animal suffering and human injury. By banning the sale of fireworks to the general public we can ensure safer environments for our pets and wildlife while reducing avoidable accidents among people too.
