I am a pet owner, and my pets are absolutely terrified when fireworks go off randomly. Tragically, my cat dropped dead the other night because of them and currently, my dog is shaking in my arms out of fear. This personal experience is not unique to me alone; countless pet owners across our nation share similar stories.

Fireworks can cause severe distress in animals due to their loud explosions. According to the RSPCA, 45% of dogs in the UK show signs of fear when they hear fireworks (RSPCA). This statistic illustrates just how widespread this issue is.

Furthermore, it's not only pets that suffer; wildlife can also be seriously affected by fireworks displays. The loud noises and bright lights can cause panic and disorientation (Humane Society).

We believe that public safety should be prioritized over a few moments of spectacle. By prohibiting the public sale of fireworks, we can reduce these incidents significantly while still allowing for controlled displays at designated events where necessary precautions are taken.
