Prohibit the Private Sale and Unplanned Firework Displays

Prohibit the Private Sale and Unplanned Firework Displays
The Issue
The unforgettable and sudden tragedy that happened this week was the death of my best friend and pup due to a heart condition commonly referred to as "aortic thromboembolism". My baby boy was frightened during a medical examination and passed away very suddenly due to a cardiac catastrophe. The veterinarian specialist explained that a sudden fright such as an unscheduled firework display could've caused such a fatal episode at home.
Many may not be aware, but such instances are painfully common. Hundreds of thousands of pets around the country sadly suffer from heart-related health issues which can cause fatal frights due to unplanned fireworks displays. It's a stark fact that countless dogs can die of heart-related problems triggered by the fright these impromptu displays cause.
Typically, dogs show no signs of any issues until one day, their heart cannot take it and they go into cardiac distress. This can be incredibly difficult and painful to witness as a pet parent and os easier to manage when you are aware that events such as planned fireworks displays are going ahead.
It's time we address this preventable issue and seek a ban on both unplanned firework displays and the private sale of fireworks. This isn't just an isolated issue, but something that impacts the wellbeing of our beloved pets nationwide. By prohibiting the private sale of fireworks, we can limit the opportunities for impromptu displays that scare our pets.
Help us protect our pets from sudden frights that could end their lives needlessly and prematurely.
Your support can be a step towards a change that saves the lives of animals we hold dear. Please sign this petition and help us ban the private sale of fireworks and unplanned firework displays.
