The Issue

I am a proud owner of bunnies, creatures that are just as intelligent and friendly as cats and dogs. Their unique personalities, playful antics, and warm companionship have enriched my life beyond measure. However, it deeply saddens me that these gentle beings are often subjected to unnecessary harm for the sake of meat consumption.

Rabbits are sentient beings with complex social structures and emotional lives. According to studies by the University of Bristol's School of Veterinary Sciences, rabbits have cognitive abilities comparable to those of cats and dogs (University of Bristol). Yet unlike our beloved pets, they lack legal protection from being killed for food.

The killing and eating of rabbits is not only ethically questionable but also environmentally unsustainable. The Food & Agriculture Organization states that rabbit farming contributes significantly to greenhouse gas emissions (FAO). It's time we reconsider our dietary choices in favor of more sustainable alternatives.

This petition seeks your support in urging lawmakers to make it illegal to kill and eat rabbits. By signing this petition, you can help protect these innocent creatures from unnecessary harm while contributing towards a more sustainable future for all living beings.
