We are calling for an immediate ban on primate farming facilities in Brazoria County, Texas. These establishments pose significant environmental risks and contribute to the unnecessary suffering of animals. Animal testing, a primary reason for these farms' existence, is increasingly being phased out due to advancements in alternative testing methods. According to the Humane Society International, nearly 50 countries have implemented bans or restrictions on animal testing for cosmetics. This trend reflects a global shift towards more ethical and sustainable practices that we must also embrace. Moreover, these facilities' operations often involve deforestation and habitat destruction which exacerbate climate change issues and threaten local biodiversity.
