I, like many others, am frequently on the receiving end of unsolicited mailers, particularly from politicians. These mailers are not only intrusive, but they contribute significantly to our already overburdened landfills. Many, if not most of these mailers, end up trashed and unrecycled, exacerbating our environmental challenges.

Forests around the world are shrinking at a disconcerting rate due to paper production. According to the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF), nearly 20% of global paper consumption is in the United States, which translates to millions of trees felled each year. Unwanted mail contributes to this.

Political campaigns add to this problem with scores of unsolicited mailers. This practice not only squanders natural resources but also disregards the growing global concern for environmental preservation.
