Why this petition matters

Started by William Jenkins

Steven Anderson is the infamous pastor of Faithful Word Baptist Church in Tempe, Arizona, USA, who has regularly called for the death of homosexuals. Pastor Anderson is controversial on many issues.

In June 2016, he stated in a YouTube video (since taken down, but re-uploaded by other users) that he was glad there were "50 less pedophiles" after the Orlando Pulse Shooting. This implies that he promotes terrorism as long as the victims are of the LGBT community. Anderson has also called for the death of Caitlyn Jenner due to her sex change.

Pastor Anderson and his wife are hateful and disgraceful toward people with mental, physical, and/or learning disorders. They call certain issues such as Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Oppositional Defiance Disorder (ODD) “bogus” and believe the cure for these is to be "spanked more".

In February 2016, he posted a clip from a sermon explaining how women should not have the right to vote, have a job or divorce their husband.

He has already been banned from several countries, including the United Kingdom, Botswana, South Africa, Malawi and most recently Jamaica. According to the church website, Steven Anderson is scheduled to conduct soul-winning in Sonora, Mexico from June 21 until June 23, 2018.

Mexico should not have to deal with Anderson's hate speech and homophobia. We are calling for Mexican officials to ban Pastor Steven Anderson of Faithful Word Baptist Church from entering the country on June 21.
