Prohibit Mothers from Receiving Child Support if They Deny Fathers Access to Their Children
The Issue
This petition stems from a deeply personal and painful experience. My husband, a loving and devoted father, was denied access to his daughter by her mother when she entered a new relationship. Despite years of court battles and false accusations thrown our way, the professionals concluded that the mother was committing parental alienation. However, my husband still lost access to his daughter.
Now he is expected to pay Child Support Agency (CSA) every month - an amount that increases yearly - while having no contact with his child due to no fault of his own. This situation is not unique; many paying parents are suffering in silence due to similar circumstances.
This petition aims at changing this unjust system. We demand legislation making it illegal for parents who deny the paying parent rightful access to their children without just cause from receiving CSA payments.
According to the Children's Commissioner for England's report in 2019, around 97% of CSA cases involve men paying women. Yet there are no clear statistics on how many of these men have been denied access unfairly or as a result of parental alienation.
It is time we stand up against parental alienation and ensure that child support laws serve the best interest of the child rather than being used as tools for manipulation and control over the paying parent.
Please sign this petition today; let us fight together for justice and fairness in our child support system.
