Our family has experienced firsthand the detrimental effects of living close to a large-scale bird farm. The unbearable smell, the constant swarm of flies, and the visible environmental damage were all daily reminders of this issue. Now, a company is planning to construct a mega farm - larger than the Millennium Dome - less than a mile from our home! This is industrial farming at its most destructive.

Mega farms are not just nuisances; they pose serious environmental and health risks. According to research by Johns Hopkins Center for a Livable Future, these farms generate harmful air and water pollutants at an alarming rate (Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health). Moreover, they contribute significantly to climate change due to their high greenhouse gas emissions (Food & Agriculture Organization).

We urge lawmakers to enact legislation that prohibits the construction of mega farms within 10 miles of residential areas. Such laws will protect residents from potential health hazards and preserve our environment for future generations.
