I despise GoGuardian and find its usage in our schools disturbingly stressful. It has transformed our educational system into something distinctly uncomfortable and intrusive. An increasing number of students are becoming not only increasingly anxious, but also unnerved by this software. There are serious concerns about privacy, misuse, and overreach. GoGuardian, initially invented with intentions of securing digital classrooms, has instead become a controversial tool that has the potential to violate privacy in unimaginable ways. It also tracks the location of the device, which is borderline illegal. This is my experience, and the similar sentiments echoed by others. It’s clear from numerous stories that it causes more stress than it was purportedly designed to alleviate. To protect the mental health, privacy, and overall well-being of our students, teachers, and staff, we call for an immediate ban on the use of GoGuardian in Martin. We implore our leaders to empathize with our concerns and eliminate this tool from the educational space. Please sign this petition to give a voice to our distress and demand a necessary change!
