I, like many of you reading this, am a proud Canadian who cares deeply about our environment. A particular sore point for me is the monstrous fast fashion brand, SHEIN. Their production practices are so damaging, they create CO2 emissions on par with some countries.

Fast fashion's impact on the environment is staggering. According to a study from the Danish Fashion Institute, the fashion industry is the world's second-biggest polluter next to oil. Fast fashion brands like SHEIN contribute heavily to this figure. They encourage disposable shopping culture, leading to overproduction and incredible wastage. This is not only untenable from an environmental stance but goes against our Canadian values.

For our country, for our planet, and for future generations, it is time we take a stand. We ask all Canadians to join us as we work towards banning SHEIN due to its destructive environmental footprint. This action will pave the way for more ethical and sustainable fashion alternatives.
