Prohibit Backyard Breeding Practices Nationwide

Prohibit Backyard Breeding Practices Nationwide
The Issue
I am an ardent dog lover and it deeply saddens me to see perfectly good dogs being euthanized due to overpopulation. This is a direct consequence of unregulated backyard breeding practices that are prevalent across the country. These breeders often prioritize profit over the welfare of the animals, resulting in poor living conditions and health issues for these innocent creatures.
Places like Los Angeles are completely overcrowded and shelters are euthanizing young, healthy, happy, adoptable dogs simply because there is no room! I read that one shelter alone put down 30 dogs in ONE day. That’s just ONE shelter. The picture in the title are of two 6 month old brothers (Rocky & Marshall) who were euthanized at the Lancaster animal shelter.
According to the Humane Society, approximately 2.7 million adoptable dogs and cats are euthanized each year in the United States simply because they do not have homes. This heartbreaking statistic could be significantly reduced if we put an end to backyard breeding.
By signing this petition, you're calling on lawmakers nationwide to introduce legislation that prohibits backyard breeding practices. It's time we prioritized animal welfare over profits and took a stand against this cruel industry. Please sign this petition today and help us make a difference in countless lives of our four-legged friends.
