Once again, please join the Friends of Underwood Avenue Bushland on Underwood Avenue for our annual presence to raise public awareness of the campaign to stop the University of Western Australia clearing and developing the Underwood Avenue Bushland. The Friends continue to work hard to win this battle. Our annual presence at City to Surf is important to remind the public that UWA are still intent on developing the land. DETAILS: Every year thousands of City to Surf runners pass by the Underwood Avenue bushland. This is a perfect opportunity to raise awareness of the threat to this site to a wide audience. This is also a great opportunity to meet the FUAB team, ask us questions and see how you can help in the campaign. WHO: All are welcome to join the FUAB team! Bring a sign and your enthusiasm! WHEN: The City to Surf is being held on Sunday the 28th August. The main body of runners will pass by at 10am, so please aim for 9.45am start. The event should take no longer than 1 hour. WHERE: Please meet us at the corner of Birkdale Street and Underwood Avenue, Floreat. Please be aware that Underwood Avenue is likely to be closed. Parking is available at the Australian Institute of Management or the Perth Netball Centre (Selby Street). If you are coming from the south parking is available at the CSIRO carpark at the south west corner of Brockway and Underwood. Then walk east along Underwood Avenue to join us at the Birkdale/ Underwood corner.
