I would again like to thank you for signing the petition. I have a bit more news for you. Firstly, the petition is beginning to get some attention in the local media. That's a welcome development as it shows that the campaign to save Modern Languages is having an impact. I would suggest that anyone with contacts with the media should point them towards the petition - all publicity is good publicity in terms of our drive to save the school. Secondly, a Facebook page has been set up in parallel with this petition. At the moment, over 2,000 people have liked the page. There's obviously been some crossover but if you haven't liked the page, please take the time to do so. The link is https://www.facebook.com/saveulsterlang. Again, I urge you all to spread the word and share the petition as widely as possible. We need all the help we can get to preserve University language teaching in Northern Ireland and ensure that students can learn Chinese and German in their home region. Jim
