Thanks to everyone who has signed - we're now at over 2,000 signatures.
Someone sent me a link overnight which I had to share with you. A major Northern Irish institution agrees with us on the importance of Modern Languages to the region's economy... Ulster University.
The article, from last December, states that Northern Ireland has a severe shortage of language graduates and that foreign companies based here are having to bring in staff from abroad to make up the shortfall.
This demonstrates the short-sighted and hasty nature of the move. Indeed, it has emerged that the University has not even prepared a written rationale for closure.
