Please uphold the very principles that University of Toronto was founded on, and don't be intimidated by the bullying tactics of those radical Armenians who attempt to deny fundamental principle of academic freedom of expression.

The Issue

As Canadian citizens, we have regretfully learned that some radical Armenian groups in Toronto launched a smear campaign to deny two highly esteemed Professors the academic platform at the University of Toronto to express their views on events that took place 100 years ago during the First World War.

This shameful act does not only run against the fundamental principle of academic freedom on a period in history subject to legitimate scholarly debate, but it also blatantly violates the very basic principle of freedom of expression that Canada cherishes.

We strongly believe that as a beacon of academic freedom, University of Toronto is not going to be intimidated by the oft-used bullying tactics of those radical Armenians and give the most appropriate response to these freedom-deniers by upholding the very principles that it was founded on.
