Producers have taken Aguiluz's film away from him and added scenes without his permission. The Inquirer article:

We ask that they give him back control, and that they exhibit the director's cut at the Metro Manila Film Festival for the ordinary Filipino to see.

The film is the representation of the film-maker's art and views. If it were to be compromised just to make someone look good or for commercial value, all efforts made not just by the director, but the whole creative and production team and would amount to nothing as it would not bring the audience it's desired output..
