Pro Wrestling vs NYSAC (New York State Athletic Commission) rules!

Pro Wrestling vs NYSAC (New York State Athletic Commission) rules!
The Issue
We, the independent Wrestling industry need your help!
I am starting this petition to bring your attention to the outdated and unfair regulations imposed by the New York State Athletic Commission on professional wrestling, specifically Independent Wrestling scene. The current rules, which treat pro wrestling similarly to boxing & MMA, have become a hindrance to the growth and sustainability of the industry in our state.
Unlike boxing & MMA, pro wrestling is a unique form of entertainment that combines athleticism, storytelling, and theatrics. However, the existing regulations fail to acknowledge these distinctions, resulting in unnecessary financial burdens and constraints on pro wrestling events. The costs associated with compliance with regulations designed for boxing & MMA can be prohibitive for many local independent pro wrestling promotions, putting the entire industry at risk.
Currently, Pro Wrestling is subject to the same regulations as MMA and Boxing, despite its theatrical nature. The substantial overhead costs for Doctors, medical services, insurance, etc., often leave event promoters in a financial bind before even paying venue or talent. This results in promotions opting to operate in nearby states to sidestep stringent regulations. Pro wrestling, a remarkable form of performance art, could flourish in New York with a revamp of the rules imposed by NYSAC, leading to increased local shows and overall business growth.
Several states have recognized the need for tailored regulations that consider the distinct nature of pro wrestling, leading to updates in their rules and regulations. It is imperative for New York to follow suit and amend the existing framework to better reflect the realities of the pro wrestling industry. By doing so, we can ensure that pro wrestling events can continue to thrive, providing quality entertainment to the residents of our state.
I kindly request that the New York State Athletic Commission reevaluates its current rules and collaborates with representatives from the pro wrestling industry to develop regulations that are fair, relevant, and supportive of this unique form of entertainment. This reform is not only crucial for the well-being of the pro wrestling industry but also for the enjoyment of countless fans across the state.
Consider reinstating wrestler licensing to generate state revenue, while cutting show overhead by removing the need for on-site medical staff and lowering insurance costs. This reduction in overhead expenses allows for more investment in producing top-notch live local pro wrestling shows for New York State residents.
Thank you for your attention to this matter, and thank you for your support in this petition. I look forward to positive changes that will benefit both the pro wrestling industry and the residents of New York with the attention this petition could get with NYSAC & NYS Government officials
Thank you in advance
