Keep Manatee Co. Beaches Free!!!

The Issue

Hello everyone! My name is Hunter and I just like many of you love the Anna Maria Beaches for what they are. Many of us are drawn to this region based on its natural untouched beauty and the simplicity of its beaches. Throughout the years, Anna Maria Island has become more commercialized, and businesspeople are seeking to take advantage of that. Recently, paid for parking at a popular restaurant in the City of Anna Maria established pay by plate parking, ending the era of free and open parking on our cherished island.

This decision opens a plethora of new opportunities for businesspeople to make a profit off our natural beaches. Following the decision to allow paid parking, Bradenton Beach is now tossing the idea to add paid parking within its city. These decisions are catastrophic to many people like you and I who enjoy our free beaches, especially in these challenging economical times.

Inflation is crushing all of us. We enjoy our beaches because it allows for us to unwind and get away from the stress of reality. Paid parking will have many of us scrambling for change trying to afford the tranquility of our natural made beaches. These beaches are supported by our tax dollars, and we deserve every right to freely utilize them.

If this decision infuriates you, I encourage you to sign this petition. Share what your favorite aspects of our beaches are and how paid parking may impact you and your family. No matter where you came from, where you live, or what your economic status is; we have a right to enjoy the beach as much as everyone else. Together, we can keep our beaches free and accessible for generations to come.
Thank you for your time in reading this petition and enjoy our beaches while they remain free.
