Prioritize the HALT Fentanyl Act (S.331) into the House’s agenda

Prioritize the HALT Fentanyl Act (S.331) into the House’s agenda
The Issue
Change Your Fate (CYF) is an organization started by four 8th graders who are committed to combat the relentless and devastating fentanyl crisis crippling communities across the United States, especially right here in San Francisco.
Our mission is urgent. We've seen the struggles of addiction and the incredible stories of hope from survivors who, despite being at the brink of death, are now living testimonies of recovery. These stories inspire not just change but a relentless pursuit to curb the distribution of fentanyl. A few grains of fentanyl can kill you. It is 50 to 100 times more potent than heroin, which is why it is the primary driver of the over 70,000 opioid-related deaths reported annually by the CDC. To prevent the rising death tole, we are urging the House of Representatives to act decisively by considering and passing the updated Senate version of the HALT Fentanyl Act (S.331).
The HALT Fentanyl Act (S.331) aims to permanently schedule fentanyl analogs and fentanyl-related-substances (FRS) as controlled substances, thereby equipping law enforcement and border control agencies with the necessary tools to stop illegal trafficking. This bill represents a crucial step in safeguarding our communities and providing a legislative backbone to our grassroots efforts.
By signing this petition, we will be one step closer to advocating the House of Representatives to review and pass the HALT Fentanyl Act (S.331). If this bill successfully passes through the House, it will move to the President’s review and potentially become an official law.
Sending our petition to California’s District 11 Representative, Nancy Pelosi, marks our proactive step in elevating this discussion to the halls of Congress. With your support, we can urge Representative Pelosi to prioritize the HALT Fentanyl Act on the House's agenda.
Let us send a powerful message to Representative Pelosi that the time to act is now. Be the signature that starts a law.
