Prioritize Public Health and Justice Resources for Structural Change in U.S. Governance

The Issue

Recent events in the U.S. have brought to light that immigrant communities have sustained disproportionate suffering as a result of systematic injustices based on immigration status. Justice for all requires a variety of critical interventions. One proven intervention, among others that are necessary, is the use of high quality and effective public health and justice education, training, and accountability that enforces structural change. There is ample research that shows the positive effects of such resources in public and private institutions, showing they can be powerful tools in the toolbox for the health of diverse communities such as the US.

Help me spread the word by signing this petition that calls on local, state and national government leaders to make high quality and effective public health and justice education, training and accountability that enforces structural change a priority and a requirement at every government agency, a requirement for agencies receiving public funds, and to call on private agencies to include such resources as well.

If successful, this can help the U.S. become a more just, safer, and healthier nation. Help dismantle the systemic evil that plagues our nation. Immigrant communities are valuable members of America, and worthy of systems that operate justly and equitably. This is needed to ensure the dignity, well-being, and success of all. Because as Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. expressed in his Letter from the Birmingham Jail, “Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere. We are caught in an inescapable network of mutuality. Whatever affects one directly, affects all indirectly.”

Standing with you for freedom, healing, and restorative justice.

Thank you.
