The Independant have again shone the spotlight on the NMC calling for an inquiry into the NMC and showing the efforts the NMC are making to "hide" the quarterly safeguarding report

" The Independent understands the latest internal review found that the NMC is still failing to adequately consider restrictions on nurses’ and midwives’ practice when they’ve faced serious allegations, such as sexual misconduct, and child abuse."

 
The regulator’s board’s papers also reveal this review found a “failure to identify and act on safeguarding concerns”.

Nazir AFzal has himself responded angrily stating " in spite of his review, the regulator has “not understood the need for greater transparency in their dealings”.
