Hey Marietta Residents!

Despite skateboarding booming in popularity worldwide, there is no skatepark in the city of Marietta, GA.  As a result, local skateboarders must either drive 25+ minutes to another skatepark or skate in public areas. 

Although the 2022 Cobb County SPLOST Projects List includes a line item for a skatepark as a joint project with the City of Marietta, this skatepark may not get prioritized by the City unless the skate community shows the City leadership how important a skatepark is.  Without this show of support, the skatepark may not get prioritized.

Local skateparks deliver many community benefits that can be matched by few other investments.  Skateboarding not only teaches fitness, balance, and agility, but it also instills determination and perseverance in a way that few sports can.  Furthermore, skateparks are gathering places that promote positive interaction among people from diverse backgrounds.
