More than 80 residents attended the April 9 outreach meeting on the proposed redevelopment at 929 E. Duane Ave., Fair Oaks Plaza. The turnout reflected how much attention this project is getting and how much is at stake for the community.

Residents raised concerns over losing a neighborhood shopping center, reduced retail, and access to grocery and fresh food. Hearing so many residents speak to a long history of inequity in this neighborhood made the depth of the issue clear.

The Commission will review the project’s site planning and design, including architectural details and any requested waivers or concessions. North Sunnyvale deserves the same access, investment, and attention as every other part of this city. That only happens when we show up, speak out, and make it impossible to ignore.

In solidarity,

North Sunnyvale Community
