The Issue

Our beloved six-year-old, Rylan "Beans" Pruitt, was tragically lost to Medullomyoblastoma. Our pain turned into purpose as we formed the Rylan Strong Network to make a difference in the pediatric cancer world. Through our experience, we realized the urgent need to bring pediatric cancer research to the forefront.

The survival rates for pediatric cancer can significantly be improved with an increase in research and consequently, tailor-made treatments for our little ones. However, currently, only 4% of federal government cancer research funding goes to study pediatric cancer. This neglect needs to be addressed and our children deserve better. It is therefore paramount for the United States to make pediatric cancer a top priority and increase the allocation of resources to this crucial area.

Furthermore, we urge that any hospital accepting federal and state funding should be required to accept whatever insurance a family has. No family dealing with the trauma of pediatric cancer should be further burdened with the worry of their insurance not being accepted by hospitals.

This fight is not just for Rylan; it is for every child that is suffering, and for every family facing the unimaginable. Please sign the petition and advocate for the prioritization and increased funding for pediatric cancer research.

Join the Rylan Strong Network as we head to Capitol Hill to make a difference in the lives of these children.
