Update on Petition to stop major fast food outlet
As we near the two-week mark since the launch of this petition, the outpouring of community support has been truly overwhelming! We now have over 700 signatures on our Change.org petition, and we've also begun collecting signatures on paper for those who prefer not to sign online. Many businesses in Strathalbyn are displaying the paper petition in their shop fronts. If you don’t have a copy and believe you can help collect signatures, please feel free to reach out to me, and I can email you a form to print.
We still need community groups to support the petition by writing a letter of objection to the Minister. If you're part of a group willing to do this, please get in touch, and I can send you a sample letter and key points to include.
We've had two newspaper interviews to spread the word and another one scheduled for next week. Additionally, I heard that Cath from the Bean Machine gave an interview on the ABC, so the message is getting out there.
