King Kekaulike High School Auditorium open to community organizations

King Kekaulike High School Auditorium open to community organizations
The Issue
Alexander Academy Performing Company has been interested in renting the auditorium at King Kekaulike High school. This Performing Arts Center (PAC) was built to not only to service the High School but also to local organizations. This 35 million dollar building is state of the art seating just over 400 people which is perfectly suited to house our dance productions that service over 200 dance students and over 1000 locals for our weekend of shows. It is my understanding the PAC now has a non profit to help aid in funds for maintenance that was not originally put into the budget when it was built. I have been told that the venue isn't rented out to local organizations because of scheduling conflicts with the school, or that the Department of Education (DOE) can not rent out facilities during covid. We will use safety precautions during covid to help keep our safe.
We would like to hold our spring production of the Sleeping beauty June 1-5. 2022 when school is out therefore no school schedule conflicts nor covid creating a risk to students and staff. We are prepared to put money back to the DOE/ non profit with our rental fees. We are able to support funds for professionals with the sound and lighting equipment and cleaning staff. We are experienced in renting theaters and can take great care with the sound system, stage, and auditorium as a whole. We would be grateful to have the opportunity to hold our productions at this venue in 2022 also to include The Nutcracker Ballet. We feel we would be a great trial rental for the admin to open the doors to us and see how it goes. It was in the mission for the families who invested in this 35 million dollar building to share it with local organizations.
