You most likely know that many students at B. Gale Wilson Middle school and Elementary are waiting for their middle school years to finally come to an end. But what you don’t know is that the three years that some of us put in were really hard. The students involved in dual immersion have been in this program for 9 years. During the 3-9 years of being at this school, our kids study hard, complete their work and do the best job they can so that when they promote/graduate out of that school, they can feel accomplished. For the past 20+ years that this school had been open, we have always gotten a certificate given to our promoting Dual immersion class students. This certificate is no regular certificate. If the certificate is shown to the right administrators when the students are in high school, they only have to do 2 years of language, rather than 4. The students deserve to get a break and get all the years that they put into this program paid off. It takes a lot of work to be in the program for 9 years. But our administrator are now saying that if we try and stay home and distance learn, then we won’t have a chance to be enrolled in our DI program. Which is nonsense, so please, sign this petition so that the principals of B. Gale Wilson change the regulations to where we get a certificate of completing the DI program while staying at home and being healthy.
