We've collected nearly 1,000 signatures. We've had numerous letters published in local papers. Our voices are being heard. This Monday (Dec. 7th), the Princeton Council will introduce an ordinance to make long-lasting, pedestrian-friendly changes to Witherspoon Street, and limit car traffic to just one lane. Now is the time to act:
Right now, please submit a comment and make it part of the public record. Send the comment directly to the Princeton Council email address: princetoncomments@gmail.com
Then keep the pressure on. The ordinance is scheduled for a final vote on Monday, Dec. 21st. Consider writing letters to local papers (here's the Town Topics email address: editor@towntopics.com) and also responding to the naysayers (post Facebook comments here).
Finally, when you're dining out, getting coffee, and buying books - let your favorite downtown small business know just how much you support the measure. A pedestrian-friendly Witherspoon is a win-win for residents and for business.
