Horrific NZ pig cruelty exposed again                    

Factory farming is New Zealand’s shame with 100 million animals kept in intensive cramped conditions every year.

Despite consistent public opposition to intensive pig farming, pigs are continuing to suffer in factory farms. New footage shows yet again horrific living conditions and shocking cruelty on a New Zealand pig farm.

Investigators found:

• *Squalid conditions, a sow in a farrowing crate so tight that her newborn piglets were squashed to death.
• *Other piglets dying next to their helpless mother.
• *Overcrowding of ‘fattening pigs’ with dozens of rats running over them.
• *Pigs with infected eyes.
• *A dead pig left among living pigs. 

SAFE wants this hellhole of a farm closed down and farrowing crates urgently phased out. Farrowing crates in particular have been found to fail to meet the obligations of the Animal Welfare Act, as the sows cannot express normal behaviours- even those so basic as turning around. 

Please urge the PM to ban ALL factory farming pratices, starting with a immediate phase out date for farrowing crates. We can do it, but we must speak up loudly,  today, for the animals who can't. Please help.
