The communications facility at Pine Gap is essential to US military activities. It locks Australia into its alliance with the US. It will therefore become a target, if hostilities break out between the US and any other country (for example, China), especially if there is any threat of a nuclear exchange.  

Pine Gap is used to locate targets for the notorious 'drone strikes' aimed at suspected terrorists, that kill innocent civilians along with those suspects (without any legal process). Australia is implicated in these extra-judicial assassinations. The facility should be closed and the land returned to its traditional owners.

For the security of all Australians, through you, we ask the House of Representatives to terminate the agreement between the governments of Australia and the United States that established the Joint Defence Facility at Pine Gap.
