The Issue

The Problem: The Myanmar/Burmese military (Tatmadaw) for decades has demonized and disenfranchised Rohingya Muslims. Since October, the Myanmar military has been involved in what it calls a "clearance operation" in Rohingya areas, resulting in what a recent UN report has described as "devastating cruelty," including: over 1,000 killed, mass gang rapes, the burning down of whole villages, the displacement of 100,000 Rohingya who have fled to neighboring Bangladesh.

22 Nobel Prize laureates have called on Myanmar to end its genocide against the Rohingya and recognize them as citizens. By selling fighter jets to the same military persecuting Rohingya Pakistan is contravening its human and Islamic values and responsibility.

ACT NOW: The Islamic Republic of Pakistan Must Not Sell JF-17 Fighter Jets To Mynamar/Burma while it genocides the Rohingya.

a) Pakistan has previously spoken up for the rights of the Rohingya and we urge it to continue to do so.

b) It is hypocritical for Pakistan speak up for Rohingya and then sell Fighter Jets to the same military persecuting them.

c) Pakistan must condition its sale of Fighter Jets to Burma on an end to the genocide against Rohingya and a restoration of their citizenship.
