The houbara bustard has its global population listed as Vulnerable on the IUCN Red List. Its population is hunted, specially in winters in southern parts of Pakistan (Sindh and Balochistan). Government of Pakistan has banned its hunting since last few years, due to its dwindling population. Special permits have been awarded in past, however it has been evidenced that the actual number hunted is far greater (often in hundreds) than permitted.

We also ask the Crown Prince of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to ask Saudi Governors / Princes and other influentials to adopt other sports that are not harmful to ecosystem and wildlife population, particularly those declared as vulnerable to extinction, and be a role model for global populace. 

We also demand that the Prime Minister of Pakistan take this seriously and abolish all such permits, ensure that Pakistan becomes a habitable place for wildlife. We also take this opportunity to connect this with the living conditions provided to Kaavan, the lonely elephant, while we would like to be seen as an up and coming economy, however not a safe place for wildlife.
