Voice of Malaysian Arts, Live Festival and Events Community

In recent years, the voice of a minority group of activist, political figures and religious groups have claimed to be the voice of the country and its people in publicly calling for the cancellation of arts and culture, concerts and festivals events because it goes against the culture and religious beliefs of the country. While we respect their opinions and views, we believe this does not represent the voice of the country.

During the launch of Visit Malaysia 2020 held on the 22nd of July 2019, our Prime Minister, Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad had responded to a question from a reporter regarding these cancellations saying "it does not represent the voice of the nation, but the people also need to make their voices heard".

In response to this, we are calling on the community of arts and culture, concert and festival patrons to sign this petition as our way of showing unity in our voice and for it to be heard. Our target is to obtain at least 100,000 signatures.

We, the people want the government of the day:

1. To acknowledge that the public wants more arts and culture, concert and festival activities to take place in Malaysia.

2. To not cave into the request of the minority as the false voice of the nation.

3. To improve the current policy and regulatory framework to allow for more arts and culture, life festival and concert events to take place in the country.

If you love arts and culture, concerts and festivals in Malaysia, please sign this petition

Tag a friend that you think would also like their voice to be heard.

Thank you.
