The Issue

People in many major cities in India woke up to a poisonous smog engulfing their cities a day after Diwali. The pollution levels in the the capital of India have gone beyond hazardous limits.  There might be many reasons for increased pollution, but firecrackers during Diwali, result in shooting up the levels of  smoke and toxins to new heights. It is the responsibility of every person to leave this earth and environment in a livable condition for its next generation.  This is suicide. Even people who do not burn crackers will be party to this destruction of the environment and the  deterioated health of the future generations if they do not nothing to stop this madness.

This request does not claim that firecrackers is the only reason for pollution or that  banning them it will solve all problems related to air pollution, but just as when you have a sore throat you do not eat an ice-cream, similarly, given the current pollution levels, burning fire crackers is like committing suicide.

For the future of the coming generations, I request you to please ban use of firecrackers during Diwali
