Dear Petition Supporters, On November 5th 2015, Our Seas Our Future (OSOF), and Dr Trisia Farrelly from Massey University presented oral submissions in support of the OSOF petition to phase out single-use plastic bags to the Local Government and Environment Committee. Our petition and oral presentations were responded to by the Ministry for the Environment (MfE) and were followed by Q&A by the Committee attendees. What's the petition about? Click here: http://bit.ly/1HpOCkr We will receive the official advice paper from the MfE and we plan to submit our right of reply in the near future. More updates will follow in the new year when we are called back to our next hearing date. In addition, we will be attending the Single-Use Plastic Bag Forum hosted by the Massey University Political Ecology Research Centre and Carrying Our Future on December 10th in Palmerston North to discuss goals, plans, successes, and challenges surrounding the issues of single-use plastic bags. Updates to follow Thank you to everyone who has supported this petition and OSOF cause to date. ----------------------------------------- Consider supporting OSOF by visiting us at http://www.osof.org and by supporting us on social media.
