Phase out single-use plastic bags in New Zealand
UPDATE: Minister advised against petition
Our Seas Our Future
Sep 22, 2016 —
UPDATE: 6th August 2016. The Minister for Environment has advised against our petition calling such a move "impractical" and that it "would not make financial sense" given current law already imposes a levy on waste being sent to landfills. The report says single-use plastic bags are only one type of litter and the majority of its members agree with current waste management policies being followed by the Ministry for the Environment.
